On April 24, 2021 at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital, the world became a lot less brighter, as a wonderful man I called my husband and best friend of 34 years suddenly left too soon at the age of 74.

Wally was a lover of everything, whether it was people, family, or animals. He would always have a smile for you as well as a hug and boy those hugs were the greatest. He is survived by his wife Sheryl (nee: Stokes), His Daughter Sheryl, grandsons Drayven and Gage. Brother Willi, Mother in Law: Marion LeBlanc, Father in law: David Stokes. Brother in law of David Stokes(Louise). Nephew Dakota and Great Nephew Xavier, Uncle Archie Langille, Aunt Lorraine Reznak (Joe) He is also missed by many nieces and nephews as well as cousins. Special daughters Stephanie Pottier and Christie Behm. He is also deeply missed by his fur babies Shadow and Rusty. He was predeceased by his mother Elisabeth Altvater, Nana Ida LeBlanc, Nephew Brad Baker and Aunt Ruth Langille, as well as so many others. So many friends and family will miss him. For most of his life he was a long haul truck driver and traveled all over the Country. With Wally's great sense of humour he would say he was a "Jerk of all Trades" . Over the last 10 years he and Sheryl ran a DD Company in the Durham Region. In between working, him and Sheryl got to travel to places like Cuba, Dominican Republic and Panama and made many memories. At this time during Covid-19, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
The day you left and gained your wings
My heart just broke in two
I wish you could have stayed
But heaven needed you
You left me with the memories
And I love you dearly still
No matter how much time goes by
You know I always will
You were a very special person
With kindness in your heart
And the love we had together
Grows stronger now we’re apart
I know I cannot bring you back
Although I wish it everyday
But a piece of me went with you
The day you went away
Your loving wife Sheryl. We will see each other again my love. Until then fly with the angels and remember I love you with all that I am.
