Peacefully and gently, on Monday December 21st, 2020, Ada "Joyce" Virtue, in her 90th year, graduated to heaven with family at her side after several years of excellent loving care at Glen Hill Strathaven Nursing Home in Bowmanville. Preceded in death by parents Eli and Ada Mairs of Nestleton, six siblings, husband "Bud" Reid Howard Virtue of Bowmanville, and grandson David Porter of Sacramento, California.
Loving Mother of daughter Brenda Virtue, (nee Porter), Barry Virtue (Cheryl), Donna Severn (Gary); grandmother of Edward Porter, Brian Porter, Lisa Griffin (Paul), Nathan Virtue (Sara), Nicole Virtue (Rob), and Matthew Virtue; great grandmother of Michael Halperin, Danica Griffin, Stella Virtue, Conner Virtue and Jax Taylor.
Joyce's life revolved around her love for Jesus Christ, caring for her family with her three children, and her love of music. Joyce taught many of the youngsters in the Bowmanville area to play guitar and was an accomplished musician on guitar, keyboard and violin, many times performing as a guitar duet with Bud on rhythm guitar.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to be announced. Loved and admired by all, Joyce's sweet presence will be sadly missed.
