COOK, Robert Murray
Robert, known to his family and friends as Bob, passed away with his family by his side on March 26, 2020 at the age of 85.
Bob had a long career as an automobile mechanic, and operating his own Service Stations. Bob’s first business opened in 1963 as a BA Service Station in Bowmanville. This was followed by additional Stations in Oshawa and again in Bowmanville. He took great pride when he served as President of the Kiwanis Club. His favourite pass time was showing his 1950 Chevy at Local Fairs and Shows. Bob also enjoyed a good game of euchre with Family.
Bob is survived by his Loving Wife of 61 years, Eleanor Heloise Cook (nee Smith), and by his 5 children Robert Cook (Laura), Donna Broschak (Derek), Sharon Gilbank (Daniel), David Cook (Tracey), and Jennifer Turley (Robert).
He is missed by his 9 Grandchildren Colin, Megan, Kale, Jordan, Kyler, Ethan, Liam, Amy, Jesse, and a close niece Debbie Walker.
Bob is survived by brothers Bill and Lloyd, sisters Alice, Helen, Margaret, Bonnie, and many other family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Reid and Rita Cook, and sisters Mary and Evelyn.
Bob will be missed as a kind, generous, funny and gentle man.
Public viewing will be from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. on March 30, 2020 at Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St., Bowmanville. Due to Covid-19, there will be a maximum of 10 people allowed in the Chapel. If requested, lower limitations will be made for your visit to keep everyone safe.

Heloise, Rob, Donna, Sharon, David, Jen, and families. Native American Prayer I give you this one thought to keep- I am with you still- I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain, When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the sweet uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone- I am with you still in each new dawn. Wishing you peace, Charlene

Our Sincere Thoughts and Deepest Sympathies to Heloise, Rob (Cookie), Donna, Sharon, David, Jennifer and the Entire Family during this difficult time. Bob was one of the best bosses that I worked for, and a Saturday afternoon was not complete until you had spent your time on "The Stick" cleaning the floor at Cook's Texaco.
Love to All,
Larry and Linda Bishop
