Obituary

Frederick Simon Malleau
January 8, 1944 – April 7, 2019

On Sunday, April 7, at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa, Frederick Malleau passed away after enduring Aphasia and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy for many years. He was 75. Fred is survived by Lynda (neé Schoen), his loving spouse of 54 years, and their children David (Angela) of Newcastle, Anne (Gordon) of Port Hope and Timothy (Kimberly) of Manotick. He was predeceased by his son Anthony. The proud grandfather of Claire, Lauren, Jack, Leo and Charlotte he would travel with, and look after them, until his condition would allow it no more. Born in Massey, Ontario, Fred worked for decades in the printing industry in sales and executive leadership for John Deyell Co., General Printers and Tri-Graphic Printing (Ottawa) Ltd. Gregarious in nature, his true love was sales, where he could spend his days one-on-one with other people. He loved travel and spent many happy days exploring in foreign countries. Fred requested that there not be a service. Donations may be made to Parkinson Canada (1-800-565-3000) and can be designated in his name to Supranuclear Palsy upon request.

Linda,
Following my association with Fred at Brown Forest Industries , I recall vividly asking Fred with you and David to come to Lindsay in !971 to help me straighten out the internal procefures at John Deyell. We worked together for in close proximity for many years . I truly respected and admired Fred's sales and management skills and valued his friendship for those many years extending to the early 90's when our life paths went in different directions.
My sincere condolences to you and you entire family.

I don't know if you remember me but I certainly remember Freddie and you Lynda as I went to school with Betty. My husband Jim Hobbs passed away from Parkinsons Disease almost 2 years ago. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Sincerely Elaine Hobbs ( Burns )

Having had no contact with Freddy and Linda for more than fifty years, I read the obit in today's Globe, and a flood of memories came back. We were in high school together in Massey, though I was a few years ahead and left Massey in 1959 to go to the University of Toronto. If Linda were interested, I would be happy to hear from her. I am retired university faculty in Vancouver, and just remarried this year. I send in any event my sincere condolances, knowing you will be relieved that Fred is finished wth his years of suffering.
