TRESSIDER, HELEN ELVIRA (WIBERG) – It is with sadness that the family of Helen Tressider announce her passing on December 8, 2018 in Bowmanville, ON with the loving support of her dear friends Lee-Ann Muir and Scott Milner. Helen was born on her parent’s farm in Brockington, Saskatchewan; the youngest of ten children. After training as a hair stylist she left for Florida in 1949 and spent her career in salons in Miami, Denver, Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, Florida. A flair for fashion, Helen sewed exquisite outfits, was impeccably dressed/coiffured and enjoyed golf, quilting and her dear friend Mabel. Helen was strong willed and independent with a quick wit and engaging humor. She married Jack Tressider, the loved of her life and soul mate. They resided in Bowmanville and wintered in Florida, enjoying retirement and their close friends. We lovingly recall Helen’s numerous visits to Saskatchewan and Alberta, baking and cooking with her sisters and her love of robust conversation and family gatherings. Helen’s grand-nieces, Emma and Victoria have fond memories picking berries and enjoying her roast chicken dinners together. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack Tressider; her mother and father, Per and Klara Wiberg; brothers Helgi; Helmer, Hilding, Manfred, Henrick and sisters Mildred, Gunhild and Doris. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Ethel Markstrom and numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces/nephews.
