Obituary for Lorri Mae Hooey (Dracup)

Lorri Mae Hooey (Dracup)
Lorri Mae Hooey
When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me . I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little–but not too long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me–but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart .Go to the friends we know And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss Me, But Let me Go!
Heaven got another angel and though she’s gone, she did not die, she's in our thoughts. She's in our hearts and by our side. She will be there, whenever we need. She’s here inside our hearts. Team leader for Enterphase Child and Family Services where she worked to assist vulnerable youth to have the best life possible. She was a strong supporter of the field which she was involved in for 30+ years. Lorri's greatest passion was to make the world a better place, which she spent every day trying to achieve. Lorri never gave up on her dream and it will be passed to her family.
Lorri will be greatly missed by her husband John, her children Katie (Greg), Peter, and her granddaughter Madyson. She is survived by her mother Ada (Larry) and predeceased by her father Wayne. Sister of Kathy (Gary), Shelley (Mark) and sister in law of Marie. As well she will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered and greatly missed by her best friend and soul sister Jan, as well as all her friends, co-workers and all the many people she met. Special thanks to Dr. Rothenstein and his team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, as well to Lynn from VHA Home Health Care. Donations in Lorri's honour can be made to Lung Cancer Canada or to R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre. She would appreciate anything you can give. We will be holding a celebration of life for Lorri at our family farm on July 14th from 1pm-5pm. We invite everyone to come and have some refreshments with her family. Our farm is located at 3728 Ganaraska Rd 9 Clarington, Ontario. One last message from the amazing and kind women she was.
Hold the door, say "please", say "thank you". Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie. I know you got mountains to climb But always stay humble and kind .When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you .When the work you put in is realized .Let yourself feel the pride But always stay humble and kind.
